Shirts on Fire is a small family business based in Pitt Town in the Hawkesbury District.

We began as so many small businesses do ... completely by accident! When we joined the Oakville brigade in late 2019, the brigade had a cupboard with a handful of t-shirts in it that no one seemed to be responsible for or to want to know about! Because my full-time job is as a graphic designer and I own a t-shirt business, I was naturally the person 'voted in' to take on the task. Not a problem, happy to do it.

Once we had our own t-shirts and then hoodies at Oakville, neighbouring brigades came knocking, asking if I could print some for them too. Sure, why not? I know how hard it is to find someone to do small batch printing like that, so I was happy to help them.

Fast forward a few months, and I now had almost a dozen brigades wanting to order. It was becoming increasingly impractical to do this without a proper system. I also wanted to set the merch up so it didn't have to be bulk-ordered from the brigade. That's more paperwork and monthly meetings than anyone wants to deal with!

And so, Shirts on Fire was born. I built a dedicated website just for NSW RFS brigades to host a merchandise range that members could shop from whenever it suited them. This meant no financial outlay for the brigades. No need for bulk orders and the hassle that they bring.

I've been in the clothing printing business with my other retail brand for almost 20 years, so Shirts on Fire feels like home to me. I love dealing with brigades and districts from all over the state, and giving them one less task to worry about. It puts a big smile on my face to see you all on socials, proudly wearing your brigade name on your shirts.
